Q&A

How do I set up and use eSIM?

While connected to Wi-Fi and with Airplane Mode turned off, open the RoamFi app. From the bottom menu, select “eSIM”, and follow the instructions to install and activate your eSIM by scanning the QR code or manually entering the activation code.

Then, in your device settings:

  • Go to Cellular/Mobile Networks → RoamFi eSIM and enable “Data Roaming”.

  • Go to Cellular/Mobile Data and enable “Allow Data Switching”.

When you arrive at your destination, your RoamFi eSIM will automatically activate. You can also manually select RoamFi eSIM as your data source via device settings.

Does RoamFi eSIM support calls or SMS? How can I check the number?

At this moment, RoamFi eSIM provides data-only service and does not include voice or SMS. Some eSIMs (e.g., Philippines SMART, U.S. T-Mobile, Guam IT&E, Vietnam Vietnamobile) may include a number, which will automatically appear or can be checked via dialing codes.

Can one eSIM be used on multiple devices or transferred?

No. Each eSIM can only be used once and on one device. Once installed, it cannot be transferred. To use on another device, a new eSIM is required.

When should I add my eSIM? How long is it valid?

Some eSIMs start counting their validity period immediately upon installation. It’s recommended to add your eSIM on the day of departure.

Most eSIMs must be activated within 30 days of issuance. If your planned usage is more than 30 days away, register closer to your travel date. Expired eSIMs cannot be reactivated. For assistance, contact RoamFi customer support with your order number.

  • FLEX mode: One eSIM can be used permanently across multiple countries and regions after a single installation.

  • FIX mode: Each new package requires a new eSIM installation. Do not delete an active eSIM before its validity period ends — it cannot be reinstalled. Each eSIM can only be used once and cannot be reinstalled on another device.

How can I check if my device supports eSIM?

Dial *#06# on your device. If EID appears, your phone supports eSIM. If only MEID or SEID appears, it does not.

For iPhone: Go to Settings → General → About → SIM Lock Status. If it shows “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked.

For Android: Go to Settings → About Device → SIM Status. If locked, contact your carrier for unlocking.

What if my eSIM doesn’t connect or data isn’t showing?

If your eSIM fails to connect or shows no data usage, check that:

  • Data roaming and APN settings are correctly configured.

  • Restart your device. If the issue persists, please contact RoamFi customer support.
